Under the Gums will go ahead sunshine or rain! However, in the event of lightning, the event will not be able to proceed. Ticket holders will be contacted and notified ASAP of this and given further instructions.
Gates will open at 1:30pm, and the event will conclude at approximately 9:30pm with the fireworks display.
Under the Gums is held at the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct - 6452 Newell Highway, Gilgandra - on the banks of the Castlereagh River and next to the Coo-ee Heritage & Visitor Information Centre.
There is limited seating available in the General Admission area - please BYO chairs, picnic blankets, or something comfy to kick back on!
For those who have Levelled Up - some seating is provided, however you’re still welcome to bring your own if you would like.
This is a ticketed event, everyone needs a ticket to enter! Ticket information is available here on the event page and tickets can be purchased from 123Tix.

*Pass price covers up to 2 adults and 3 children.
Bundle the whole family together and access special GA pricing. When booking these tickets, please note the price is allocated to the first adult, you need to then select additional adults and children (free) as every attendee requires a ticket.

Smoking is allowed but only in the dedicated smoking area. The event map will soon be available for the location of this area.
Free parking (limited) is available near the event site, with entry to the parking area located next to the Gilgandra Museum.
A drop-off zone is located at the front of the Coo-ee Heritage & Visitor Information Centre.
No, there will be no ATMs at the event. Please bring cash with you if you wish to utilise cash. Stallholders will accept card.
Under the Gums is accessible with a ramp and footpath into the event. Please note, most of the event is on turf so please let us know if you will need any assistance.
Dedicated accessible parking is located in the carpark to the north of the Coo-ee Heritage Centre.
This event is strictly NO BYO alcohol. We encourage attendees to support our food vendors & bar crew, however you can bring food and non-alcoholic drinks with you if you wish. Please note the entire event grounds are a licensed area.
Under the Gums is a family friendly event, with SpongeBob SquarePants and Sesame Street hitting the stage!
There will also be kids activities including a jumping castle, face painting, and a bucking bull, as well as awesome kids food and beverage options.
There are numerous accommodation options throughout the Gilgandra Region. You can peruse the options at gilgandraregion.com.au/stay. You can also contact the Coo-ee Heritage & Visitor Information Centre for assistance with accommodation.
Please note that only those who have purchased a Meet & Greet Pass for the Sesame Street characters or SpongeBob SquarePants can have a meet and greet. Meet & Greet Pass holders will be emailed their designated meet and greet time slot and more information closer to the event.
Please note that by entering the event space, you consent to your image, voice, and/or likeness being used, without compensation, in photography, video, and audio recordings for promotional, marketing, and media purposes. These may be used by Gilgandra Shire Council, Gilgandra Region, its partners, and media outlets across any platform, now and in the future.
Some of our artists will be doing meet and greets or signing sessions, and these will be announced closer to the event date and be scheduled into the event timings.
Please note Sesame Street and SpongeBob meet and greets are only available to those who purchase a Meet & Greet Pass with their chosen artist - see the ticket site for more information.
Many of our artists will also be cruising through the crowd so keep your eye out and be sure to say hello!
Please make sure you cancel your ticket via 123Tix. This makes attendance considerably easier to track and our event data accurate!
All ticket sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, changes in personal circumstances, or inability to attend the event.
The Newell Highway between Hargraves Lane and the Jack Renshaw Bridge will be closed for the duration of Under the Gums on Saturday, 26 September 2026.
Whilst road closures are in place, non-event traffic will be diverted and event traffic will be able to proceed through the road closures to the event. Please follow the signs and staff.
